Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer, Support & Risk

THIS IS ~5-6 MONTH CONTRACT. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO OVERLAP 2-3 HOURS PER DAY WITH PACIFIC TIME ZONE.

About the Job: The Support & Risk Engineering team at Taskrabbit partners with Customer Service and

Operations teams to enable seamless support experience by maximizing agent efficiency

while safeguarding platform integrity by minimizing payment losses and identity risks. Our

goal is that every job gets done with a high quality experience for the user.

In this project-based contract role, you will be brought on to drive two critical,

high-visibility projects: building new backend APIs to power our Customer Support

Chatbot for a smoother user experience, and creating new DataVisor events to proactively

stop fraudulent activity on the platform.

As a senior engineer, you'll be expected to dive in quickly, propose creative

software-design solutions, and de-tangle the complex into the simple. We believe

strongly in test-driven development and code reviews. You'll have the opportunity to work

closely with multiple engineering teams and cross-functional partners to execute these

deliverables.

You will be: ● Driving the backend development for our Customer Support Chatbot and DataVisor

fraud-prevention integrations

● Designing, building, and maintaining these internal and user-facing integrations

while providing comprehensive test coverage

● Working closely with the Support & Risk product & engineering team and

cross-functional partners (customer support, risk) to gather requirements and

implement tactics

● Ensuring high-quality code delivery through code review and clear documentation

You should have: ● 5+ years of experience in software engineering, Object-oriented design and

implementation

● Strong experience with Ruby on Rails and MySQL (bonus points for working with

frontend teams or frontend integration)

● Strong design and architecture skills

● Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code

reviews, and design documentation)

You might be a fit if you have:

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Experience with DataVisor and/or Chatbots

● Have worked closely with customer support teams

● Great attention to detail and quality

● Love for collaborating with a tight-knit team and across the organization
