Role Overview
**Please note, this is a part-time (16-20 hours per week), 3-month contract. Candidates must be able to overlap with EST U.S. business hours.**
O3XO is looking for an AI Application Developer to help build and iterate on practical AI-powered applications for internal and client use cases. This is a hands-on contract role for someone who can move quickly from requirements to working software, with a focus on execution, prototyping, and lightweight production delivery.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys building, testing, and improving AI applications in collaboration with internal strategy and consulting leads.
What You'll Do
- Build and iterate on LLM-powered prototypes, internal tools, and client-facing MVPs
- Develop AI workflows using prompt engineering, RAG, and basic agent-style orchestration
- Connect AI applications to external systems and APIs (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, internal databases, other SaaS tools)
- Build backend / application logic using Python and/or TypeScript
- Support lightweight frontend implementation in Next.js / React as needed
- Help deploy and maintain applications using modern cloud / serverless tools
- Work with internal team members to translate business requirements into working applications
- Troubleshoot, refine, and improve solutions based on user feedback and testing
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications
- Strong coding ability in Python and/or JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience using OpenAI and/or Anthropic APIs
- Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, or context retrieval workflows
- Experience integrating APIs and external systems into applications
- Familiarity with Next.js / React for simple interfaces or front-end support
- Comfort working in cloud environments using managed / serverless services
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work from rough requirements toward a working solution
- Clear communication and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates
Nice to Have
- Experience with pgvector or other vector databases
- Familiarity with MCP or agent workflow tooling
- Experience working on internal tools, prototypes, or early-stage production applications
- Experience supporting AI solutions in consulting, startup, or agency-style environments
