Job Summary
Pyyne is seeking a contract Mobile Engineer with experience building and deploying cross-platform applications using Capacitor to work out of our South American Office.
A successful candidate in this role will bridge the gap between our web-based architecture and native mobile performance, ensuring a seamless experience for users in low-connectivity environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Encapsulate an existing web project built with React and React Router v7 into Android and iOS packages using Capacitor.
- Configure and optimize push notification systems for both platforms using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Implement and manage robust offline capabilities, ensuring data integrity and UI responsiveness when the device is disconnected.
- Handle the end-to-end deployment process, including managing certificates, provisioning profiles, and navigating the App Store and Google Play Store review cycles.
Must Have Skills:
- Capacitor & Bridge Expertise: Deep understanding of the Capacitor ecosystem and native plugin configuration.
- Mobile Notification Infrastructure: Experience with Firebase (FCM) and native notification permissions for iOS and Android.
- Offline First Strategies: Experience with Service Workers, background sync, or local storage caching for mobile-web hybrids.
- Store Deployment: Hands-on experience with App Store Connect and Google Play Console.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Modern React: Proficiency with React and familiarity with React Router v7 / Remix patterns.
- Native Knowledge: Basic proficiency in Swift/Kotlin for troubleshooting native edge cases.
- Performance Auditing: Experience using Chrome DevTools or Safari Web Inspector to debug hybrid app performance on physical devices.
- SQLite/IndexedDB: Experience with client-side databases for complex offline data structures.
