Role Overview
We're the video team within Brand Foundations at Plaid, responsible for motion and video across the company, from brand films and event content to product storytelling and social. We work across agency partnerships, in-house production, and live experiential moments, making sure everything that moves feels unmistakably Plaid. We collaborate closely with brand, marketing, product, and experiential teams to bring high-craft video work to life across every channel.
In this role, you'll edit a wide range of video content: short-form social, long-form brand and culture films, and event/keynote material. You'll own projects from rough cut through final delivery, working from established brand and motion guidelines to keep output consistent and polished. You'll collaborate with our motion designer and video producer, as well as internal stakeholders, to keep production moving smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Edit video content across formats: social cutdowns, brand and culture films, event recaps, and product storytelling, from rough cut to final delivery.
- Apply light motion design and finishing (titles, captions, simple graphics) using After Effects and existing brand templates.
- Manage versioning, feedback rounds, and delivery specs across multiple concurrent projects using Frame.io.
- Work within Plaid's brand and motion guidelines to keep editorial style consistent across deliverables.
- Collaborate with producers, designers, and stakeholders to scope timelines and keep projects on track.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of editing experience with a strong reel showing range across short-form and long-form work.
- Expert in Premiere Pro; working proficiency in After Effects for titles, captions, and light motion.
- Strong editorial instincts: pacing, story structure, music selection, and interview/talking-head work.
- Solid finishing fundamentals: audio mixing, basic color correction, and delivery across platform specs.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills; responsive and organized in remote, async collaboration (US hours).
- Familiarity with review and file management workflows (Frame.io or similar).
- Experience or curiosity with AI-assisted editing and production workflows.
- Nice-to-have: motion design chops beyond the basics, or experience editing event/keynote content.
Location requirement: located in San Francisco, CA and work in our HQ office/filming locations.
