Senior Full-Stack Engineer — React/Django MVP Completion & Stabilization

Role Overview

WalkonCloud is an early-stage experience discovery and planning platform for families. We are looking for one senior product-minded full-stack engineer to help complete, stabilize, and prepare our MVP/P0 product for launch.

This is not greenfield development. The product is already built and close to completion. The work is to enter an existing React/Django codebase, understand it quickly, complete the remaining MVP features, fix performance and integration issues, stabilize the build, and verify that the core user journeys function correctly without regressions.

We are not looking for a ground-up rebuild. We need someone who can improve and complete the existing product with discipline.

What we need:

- Get the project running locally and understand the current architecture

- Complete remaining MVP/P0 features

- Fix frontend/backend integration issues

- Fix performance, UI, and stability issues

- Stabilize the build and deployment flow

- Test core product journeys end to end

- Identify and prevent regressions

- Submit clean GitHub pull requests with clear summaries, testing notes, and risks

- Help prepare the product for a controlled soft launch

We are looking for someone who:

- Has strong React experience

- Has Django/DRF experience

- Has experience inheriting and stabilizing an existing codebase

- Can complete partially built features without creating unnecessary rewrites

- Communicates clearly with a non-technical but highly product-driven founder

- Is comfortable with pixel-sensitive UI/product quality

- Cares about end-to-end user journey correctness, not just isolated tickets

- Uses GitHub pull requests cleanly

- Can separate real blockers from noise

- Can test their own work and explain what was verified

- Can work through existing product requirements without needing everything rewritten from scratch

This is not a fit for someone who only wants greenfield development, wants to rebuild from scratch, needs heavy hand-holding, or treats UI quality and regression prevention as secondary.

Initial engagement:

- Contractor role

- Remote

- Start with focused MVP completion and stabilization work

- If successful, may extend into ongoing work up to 40 hours/week
