About the Role
Devblock Technologies is seeking a Java / Spring Boot Solution Architect to support client projects involving application architecture, backend systems, APIs, system integrations, eCommerce platforms, modernization, automation, and custom software development.
This role is ideal for someone who can bridge business requirements and technical execution. The right person should be comfortable reviewing requirements, shaping implementation approaches, guiding distributed development teams, and participating in client-facing technical conversations.
You will work closely with Devblock's product, design, project management, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to help design solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and realistic within client budgets and timelines.
What You'll Do
- Define practical technical approaches for Java / Spring Boot applications, APIs, integrations, and backend services.
- Review business and product requirements to identify technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and implementation considerations.
- Support technical handoff from Product Managers or Business Analysts to development teams.
- Provide architecture guidance to nearshore and offshore developers as they implement new features and integrations.
- Help establish standards for backend services, APIs, data flows, code quality, maintainability, performance, and security.
- Review proposed solutions to ensure they align with platform goals and do not create unnecessary technical debt.
- Identify risks related to quick fixes, workarounds, integration impacts, or downstream system dependencies.
- Support eCommerce, ERP, order management, inventory, fulfillment, billing, payment, or operational workflow integrations as needed.
- Collaborate with ERP-side architects, integration teams, DevOps, QA, and client stakeholders on technical dependencies and testing considerations.
- Participate in client meetings to assess feasibility, explain trade-offs, and guide technical decision-making.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Create lightweight architecture documentation, implementation notes, technical diagrams, and reusable patterns where helpful.
- Contribute to automation, workflow improvements, and AI-assisted delivery practices across Devblock projects.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of professional software development or solution architecture experience.
- Strong background with Java and Spring Boot applications.
- Experience designing APIs, backend services, and system integrations.
- Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, and database optimization.
- Experience working on production applications with real users, business workflows, and integration dependencies.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Ability to identify technical debt, integration risks, scalability concerns, and maintainability issues before they become larger problems.
- Experience providing technical guidance to offshore, nearshore, or distributed development teams.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent English communication, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable working through ambiguity and helping bring structure to evolving requirements.
- Practical mindset with the ability to balance technical quality, budget, timeline, and business priorities.
- Willingness to use AI-assisted tools as part of daily research, documentation, solutioning, and delivery work.
Nice to Have
- Experience with eCommerce platforms, retail technology, or order management systems.
- Experience with ERP integrations or other business-critical system integrations.
- Familiarity with order, inventory, customer, product, pricing, fulfillment, billing, or payment workflows.
- Experience collaborating with ERP architects, integration teams, or third-party system owners.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud or AWS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code management tools, and modern DevOps practices.
- Hands-on development experience with JavaScript / TypeScript or full-stack applications.
- Experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
- Experience using tools such as v0.dev, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Familiarity with modular, microservice, service-oriented, or serverless architecture patterns.
- Experience supporting platform modernization, technical discovery, roadmap planning, or architecture assessment work.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a practical Solution Architect with a strong Java / Spring Boot background and a delivery-minded approach to technical decision-making. You should be comfortable moving between client conversations, technical planning, architecture review, and development team support.
This role is a good fit for someone who can translate business requirements into clear technical direction, identify risks early, and help teams make sound decisions that balance scalability, maintainability, timeline, and budget.
You should enjoy working in collaborative environments where architecture is not just theoretical, but directly connected to how software is built, delivered, and supported over time.
