Role Overview
We are looking for a Malaysia- or Philippines-based part-time Consumer Insights Assistant to help our U.S. marketing and product team understand local event culture, online trends, and customer behavior.
This is a non-technical role. You do not need AI, software, or data science experience. The most important requirement is strong real-world knowledge of how people in Malaysia and the Philippines react to major events such as BTS concerts, K-pop performances, World Cup matches, football games, festivals, and other high-demand live events.
Your insights will help our team better understand ticket buyers, fan behavior, resale demand, hype cycles, trust concerns, and local marketing angles.
Responsibilities
- Research how people in Malaysia and the Philippines react to major entertainment and sports events
- Study local fan behavior around concerts, K-pop, football, festivals, and international performances
- Monitor online communities, social media trends, Facebook groups, TikTok, Telegram, WhatsApp groups, forums, and event-related discussions
- Provide weekly insights about trending events, ticket demand, customer behavior, and cultural patterns
- Help our U.S. marketing team understand local language, slang, humor, trust factors, and buying psychology
- Review marketing ideas and suggest how to make them feel more natural for Malaysian and Filipino audiences
- Identify local communities, influencers, pages, and discussion spaces related to live events and entertainment
- Support competitor and market research for ticket resale, event discovery, and fan engagement
Requirements
- Currently living in Malaysia or the Philippines
- Strong understanding of local culture, online communities, and event-going behavior
- Good knowledge of entertainment, sports, concert, and fan culture
- Comfortable using the internet, social media, messaging apps, and online communities for research
- Able to explain local customer behavior clearly to a U.S.-based team
- Basic English communication skills
- Honest, reliable, and able to work independently
- Available for part-time remote work
- Willing to complete a standard background or reference check where legally permitted
Nice to Have
- Experience in market research, digital marketing, social media research, or community management
- Familiarity with ticket resale, event promotion, entertainment marketing, or sports fan communities
- Strong understanding of adult consumer behavior, especially male consumers in their 30s and 40s
- Active awareness of local trends on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, and local forums
- Ability to speak Bahasa Melayu, Tagalog, Cebuano, or other local languages
- Interest in concerts, football, basketball, K-pop, festivals, or live entertainment
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate lives in Malaysia or the Philippines and deeply understands how local people think, communicate, and react around major events. You may not be technical, but you are culturally aware, active online, and able to explain local behavior in a practical way.
We especially value someone who can help us understand the mindset of local event fans and ticket buyers.
