Senior SDET - QA (AI Systems) Remote US Only

Role Overview

*Please note, this is a 2-3 month contract**

About the Role We are building a healthcare-focused AI platform that automates patient engagement through conversational workflows (SMS and voice). The system is powered by an LLM-driven chatbot that operates through a multi-phase decision engine handling structured data extraction, decision logic, message composition, and system-triggered workflows such as follow-ups and alerts. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to strengthen our existing testing infrastructure and ensure reliability across both backend systems and AI-driven workflows.

Tech Stack Backend priorities ● Strong experience needed in: Node.js, Express, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis ● Familiarity with these is ideal: Prisma (or other ORM experience), tRPC, HIPAA compliance

Frontend priorities ● Strong experience needed in: React, TypeScript, Redux OR Zustand OR other state management libraries ● Familiarity with these is ideal: Tailwind, AWS Cognito

DevOps priorities ● Strong experience needed in: AWS, Terraform ● Familiarity with these is ideal: Azure, HIPAA-compliant environments

AI priorities

● Strong experience with: testing LLM-based systems, AI chatbots, or complex decision engines

What You'll Do ● Evaluate and strengthen existing automated testing frameworks ● Expand test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers ● Design test strategies for the 4-phase AI workflow (analysis, decisioning, composition, execution) ● Build scenario-based tests for conversational accuracy and system behavior ● Test async systems (Redis, BullMQ, job queues) ● Improve regression coverage across APIs and AI decision layers ● Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines ● Validate AI outputs using eval-driven testing (Vitest)

What We're Looking For ● Senior-level SDET or QA Automation experience ● Experience improving existing test frameworks, not just building new ones ● Strong experience testing Node.js and TypeScript systems ● Experience testing APIs and async systems ● Strong understanding of edge cases in multi-step workflows ● Strong English communication skills (written and verbal), required

Engagement Details ● Duration: 2 to 3 months ● Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week) ● Location: Remote ● Collaboration: Must overlap at least 4 hours with U.S. time zones
