Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to help architect and guide the development of modern front-end applications. This is a 9-month contract-to-hire opportunity for a senior engineer who can lead front-end architecture, mentor developers, and drive best practices across the team.
We are specifically looking for modern, AI-enabled engineers who leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and engineering velocity.
This role will play a key part in designing and implementing microfrontend architecture, mentoring engineers, and ensuring best practices in building scalable React applications using the client's proprietary design system.
Experience in FinTech, payments, or POS (Point of Sale) platforms is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of React-based front-end applications within a microfrontend architecture.
- Define and maintain front-end architecture, standards, and best practices.
- Guide engineers in implementing the client's design system and reusable component libraries.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable and user-friendly solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and support technical growth across the front-end team.
- Ensure high standards for performance, maintainability, accessibility, and scalability.
- Contribute to technical planning, architecture decisions, and implementation strategies.
- Leverage AI-enabled engineering tools and workflows to improve development efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in front-end engineering.
- Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience designing or implementing microfrontend architectures.
- Experience working with design systems and shared component libraries.
- Strong architectural thinking and ability to design scalable front-end systems.
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience building applications in FinTech, payments, or POS ecosystems.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools or AI-enabled engineering workflows.
- Experience in enterprise-scale front-end platforms.
- Familiarity with front-end performance optimization and observability tools.
- Experience working in distributed or remote engineering teams.
