Role Overview

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to engage engineering professionals on a project basis. Contractors will help design and evaluate technical tasks that reflect real-world engineering workflows, supporting the development of AI systems capable of reasoning through complex, domain-specific problems. This project is well-suited for individuals with strong analytical skills and practical experience in engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts grounded in engineering scenarios such as system design, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, clarity, and alignment with engineering principles
• Draft high-quality reference solutions and rationales for technical decisions
• Identify logical gaps, errors, or unrealistic assumptions in AI outputs
• Collaborate asynchronously with other technical experts and reviewers using shared documentation and structured feedback

Ideal Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, software, or a related engineering field
• 3+ years of experience in engineering practice, R&D, or technical consulting
• Strong understanding of engineering methodologies, tools, and applied problem-solving
• Excellent technical writing and structured reasoning skills
• Comfort reviewing model outputs across a range of engineering domains
