Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with a focus on AI to lead the design and implementation of a production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture. Unlike traditional ML pipeline roles, this position focuses on building scalable, business-oriented AI solutions integrated directly into enterprise data environments.

As a key member of a high-collaboration team, you will work alongside two Software Engineers and a Project Manager. This role requires a blend of technical mastery and strong client interaction to support architectural decisions and the overall technical direction of the solution.

Core Responsibilities

• Architectural Design: Design and implement a full RAG architecture from the ground up.
• Backend Development: Develop robust backend services using Python.
• Data Integration: Integrate enterprise data sources (data lake environments) and structure data ingestion and retrieval flows for AI applications.
• Platform Management: Work with Microsoft Fabric as the core data platform.
• Client Collaboration: Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to manage technical discussions and ensure the solution meets business needs.

Required Qualifications

• Senior Expertise: 4+ years of experience in Python backend engineering within structured, production environments.
• Data Proficiency: Proven experience working with data lakes.
• Communication: Fluent English and strong communication skills for high-level client interaction.
• Technical Autonomy: Ability to build scalable backend architectures and robust RAG solutions with minimal instruction.

Technical Stack & Preferred Skills

• Core Stack: Python, Microsoft Fabric.
• RAG & AI: Experience building or implementing RAG architectures and AI-integrated backend systems.
• Preferred (Nice to Have):
• • Prior experience with Microsoft Fabric (a strong differentiator).
• Experience designing and managing data pipelines.
