This role is primarily project-based and will focus on improving how HR manages, analyzes, and utilizes data while also supporting recurring reporting and audit activities that keep our HR operations running efficiently.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, building more efficient processes, and finding opportunities to automate manual work. While there will be recurring operational responsibilities, this role is best suited for someone who enjoys technical projects and continuously improving existing tools and processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Reporting & Data Management
- Create, maintain, and enhance recurring HR reports using ADP and other data sources.
- Produce reports related to headcount, turnover, absenteeism, compensation, organizational structure, and other workforce metrics.
- Validate report accuracy and troubleshoot data discrepancies.

- Support implementation of new automation initiatives across the HR function.
Systems Administration
- Partner with IT to create, maintain, and audit email distribution lists.
- Perform Active Directory account audits and assist with user access reviews.
- Support HR data governance and periodic system audits.
- Assist with technical HR projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience improving and automating existing Excel reports.
- Experience creating reports from HRIS platforms (ADP experience preferred).
- Experience developing Power BI dashboards and working with multiple data sources.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Experience using AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies) to improve productivity, reporting, documentation, or process automation.
- Familiarity with Active Directory or user account administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple technical projects independently in a remote work environment.
- Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for finding more efficient ways to work.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking existing processes and making them better. Whether it's improving an Excel report that takes hours to maintain, building a Power BI dashboard, automating a manual HR process, or using AI to increase productivity, this individual should be energized by solving problems and creating more efficient ways of working.
This role is less focused on customer-facing HR support and more focused on delivering technical solutions that improve the effectiveness of the HR team. Success in this position requires curiosity, initiative, strong technical skills, and the ability to independently manage projects while balancing recurring reporting and audit responsibilities.
Workload & Priorities
The responsibilities below represent the anticipated long-term allocation of work once initial projects have been completed.
During the first few weeks of the assignment, a larger portion of the contractor's time will be dedicated to creating and auditing email distribution lists, performing Active Directory account audits, and establishing related reporting processes.
